The brief includes the design of a compact retirement house for a couple nestled in a tea plantation valley. The house is designed to minimize impact of its footprint on the surrounding environs.
It is important to strategically locate retaining walls to contain soil erosion during heavy monsoons, which poses a big threat to the location of the site. A unidirectional pitched roof with a large overhang enables easy rainwater run-off and forms the core design component. Huge curtain walls in the living, dining & kitchen areas are designed to offer stunning panoramic views of the valley!
